Overview

The University of Sharjah is hosting the 58th Conference of the Association of Arab Universities, under the theme: "Enhancing Regional Integration and Digital Transformation in Arab Higher Education." Delegations from 22 Arab countries are participating, along with a distinguished group of university presidents and representatives of scientific and research institutions.

The conference serves as a pivotal platform for strengthening cooperation among Arab universities in light of digital transformation and artificial intelligence. It will explore ways to develop higher education and scientific research systems and support strategic projects that promote knowledge integration and regional collaboration. The conference also focuses on advocating for effective partnerships to leverage artificial intelligence for education and sustainable development.

Among the prominent guests is Professor Amr Salama, Secretary General of the Association of Arab Universities, who will present the achievements of the Strategic Plan (2020-2030), including the launch of the Arab Knowledge Bank. This bank provides member universities with access to over 100 million knowledge resources from more than 1,000 international publishers.

The conference is expected to be attended by 300 university presidents and delegations from more than 500 Arab universities affiliated with the Union. It will represent a strategic milestone for strengthening Arab integration in higher education and launching a comprehensive digital transformation that contributes to knowledge building and sustainable development in the region.
