A distinguished group of world-renowned scientists from North America, specializing in respiratory medicine, in collaboration with the Meakins-Christie Laboratories of McGill University and the University of Sharjah, have united to organize the inaugural Q. Hamid International Conference on Respiratory Diseases: Management and Control. This prestigious event celebrates the remarkable contributions of the esteemed Professor Qutayba Hamid, while also serving as a global platform to showcase and discuss the latest breakthroughs in respiratory medicine.

Named in honor of Professor Qutayba Hamid, this conference reflects his profound impact on the field and his dedication to improving respiratory health worldwide. Professor Hamid's illustrious career, marked by groundbreaking research and clinical excellence, has significantly shaped our understanding and approach to respiratory diseases.

Professor Hamid's academic journey, from his MB ChB at Mosul University to his PhD from the University of London, and his fellowships with the Royal College of Pathologists, the Royal College of Physicians, and the Royal Society of Canada, exemplifies the highest standards of medical scholarship. As Professor of Medicine, He served as Director of the Meakins-Christie Laboratories of McGill University before joining University of Sharjah in 2016. Notably, during his tenure, he presided over 15 international workshops on Asthma and COPD organized by the Meakins-Christie Laboratories ,currently serving as Professor of Medicine, Vice Chancellor for Medical & Health Sciences Colleges, and Dean of the College of Medicine at the University of Sharjah, his influence continues to inspire and guide the next generation of respiratory specialists.
