The Second Sharjah International Conference on Education AI and Beyond

Abstract Registration Closed.Registration closed.

Overview

In a fast-paced world which is witnessing rapid advancements in AI, digital transformation, and technology, higher education institutions worldwide are positioned to strategically plan and adapt to such advancements. In fact, it is such planning and adaptation that enables higher education institutions to cater to the needs of a digitized and an AI driven society.

The Second Sharjah International Education Conference (SICE) will focus on how emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Digital Transformation, and Technology Transfer shape and revolutionize educational practices, curriculum design, and learning outcomes. With its overarching theme " AI and Beyond: Smart Education Unlocking Potential in the Digital Age," the conference aims to emphasize the pivotal role that education plays in preparing students for the constantly evolving job market and the future world of work.

Emerging technologies and AI applications play a transformative role in enhancing the quality of education and improving the employability of graduates. Their integration in instructional delivery, assessment and communication with students necessitates that higher education institutions examine and reflect on how different strategies are expected to revamp curricula, while considering interactive and student-centered learning approaches.  This transformation extends beyond the curriculum and encompasses the dynamics of the classroom and campus environments, whose positive impact on students’ wellbeing, performance and achievements has been demonstrated.

As automation and AI redefine the identity of industries, it is imperative that educational institutions adapt by fostering employability skills that prepare graduates for success in this evolving landscape. The conference will explore how curricula can be redesigned to integrate the vital skills of critical thinking, problem-solving, and digital literacy, while optimizing the use of AI that contributes to creating more personalized learning experiences and enhancing student outcomes.

Furthermore, the rise of digital transformation has ushered in a new era of learning, transcending the traditional classroom model, and embracing hybrid, flexible, and digitally enhanced environments. The integration of cutting-edge technologies, ranging from virtual reality to adaptive learning platforms, offers unprecedented opportunities to improve both the quality and accessibility of education on a global scale. The conference will delve into how institutions can leverage these technologies to drive innovation and meet the diverse needs of learners.

Such a progressive outlook plays a crucial role in establishing a tight knit relationship between higher education institutions and the community of industry which allows the development of practical, scalable, and innovative solutions. In fact, such relationships are considered to be essential to ensure that the evolution of education is in tandem with the rapid technological advancements that shape the global economy. Thus, by nurturing the relationships between the field of academia and the industry, higher education institutions will not only equip students with the skills required to meet the demands of the modern work force, but they will also be a driving force for growth across sectors.

By bringing leading academics, researchers, education professionals, policy makers, and industry leaders together, SICE aims to foster fruitful discussions and build bridges of collaboration with regards to these pressing topics. Participants are expected to gain insights into innovative educational practices, strategies for integrating AI and digital tools. They are also expected to comprehensively understand the importance of building a curriculum that maps with the demands of the 21st-century workforce.
